The Tourism Industry Report Card

Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism or MBRIT, is the Moreton Bay region’s official local tourism organisation (LTO). MBRIT represents the tourism industry and works to generate increased visitor demand, length of stay, and visitor expenditure for the benefit of the region.

We are Moreton Bay Regional Council’s official economic development partner, focused on supporting the growth and resilience of the visitor economy here in Moreton Bay.

Below is The Report Card: Year in Review 2022-23, which provides a snapshot of activity delivered for industry by MBRIT over the past financial year.

How to get involved in the coming financial year activities

If you are a tourism or hospitality business (this include not-for-profit organisations who are delivering cultural experiences) and operating your service OR your business/organisation business address is registered in the Moreton Bay Region Council, you maybe eligible for a FREE business listing on Visit Moreton Bay.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for a FREE listing on Visit Moreton Bay, your business or not-for-profit organisation must meet the following four (4) criteria;

  1. Be within the boundaries of Moreton Bay Region Council or provide a unique tourism experience into region,
  2. Have relevant Council and Government permits/licenses to operate,
  3. Possess public liability and/or tenant insurance,
  4. Fall under one of the following categories:

    - Accommodation Provider (including camping)
    - Tour, Hire and Experience Operator (including trails)
    - Cultural Provider (including First Nations, gallery, heritage and/or museum)
    - Agritourism Provider (including Farm Gate and Hobby Farm)
    - Hospitality Provider
    - Transport Provider
    - Other (including entertainment providers)

*Hospitality providers are subject to additional eight (8) selection criteria.
