Accessible for All

Campaign Overview

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australian's lives with a disability?

It is a fundamental right for a comprehensive society to benefit from tourism services equally, comfortably and honourably. Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism aims to remove the barriers that effect the participation of tourism services for disabled people through our Accessible and Inclusive Moreton Bay Campaign.

The Accessible and Inclusive Moreton Bay Campaign seeks to remove the barriers that affect the participation of sightseeing, travelling and vacationing for people living with disability and is the first campaign in making Moreton Bay Region an accessible and inclusive destination of choice for inter, intra and international visitors.

Marketing Support

MBRIT has identified a range of content for our consumer website, Visit Moreton Bay to be created in the form of travel guides and itineraries, events, accommodation, photos and videos. In addition, we will be distributing regular eNewsletters to a range of audiences, more social media promotion of accessible and inclusive attractions and operators, as well as a PR strategy to select an accessible and inclusive ambassador for Moreton Bay Region.

To get involved and have your accessible and inclusive business featured in this content creation, read on to submit an expression of interest.

This campaign will run from August to October 2022

How can YOU get involved?

Firstly, our team in partnership with Moreton Bay Regional Council, passionately believe that everyone has the right to a little R and R (read the councils Disability access and inclusion plan). We are THRILLED that you do too and seek to position your organisation as an accessible and inclusive service provider.

However, it is critical that as we move forward in positioning our region as an accessible and inclusive destination, that we profile locations, businesses and experiences (including events) which have been audited, reviewed and/or have included consultation with a selection of the following:

  • Moreton Bay Regional Council, Access and Inclusion Officer
  • Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN), local community chapters and/or individual members
  • Spinal Life Australia
  • Guide Dogs Australia
  • Industry health professionals (ie. Occupational Therapists)
  • Community members and visitors into region with lived experience THE MOST IMPORTANT!

Therefore, the Visit Moreton Bay Marketing Team will be prioritising businesses that participated in the 2020 Moreton Bay Region Accessible Tourism Review conducted by Spinal Life Australia and venues, parks and outdoor spaces vetted by the Moreton Bay Regional Council, Access and Inclusion Officer.

If your business or organisation was not included in the 2020 Moreton Bay Region Accessible Tourism Review, but you have completed an independent audit OR have proven peer reviews from those with lived experience regarding the accessibility and inclusiveness of your offering, service or experience, please fill in the Expression of Interest below and our Tourism Engagement & Experience Manager Renee Gusa will reach out to discuss further.
